Story of Fantasy Wars

The first campaign is the Human campaign. Derrick Pfeil is a mercenary and King Victor hires him to defend the southern borders. During the campaign he has to fight against the Orcs that are marching into the Human territories. Derrick Pfeil gets some helpers, a mage named Master Brennock from the town of Sylent and Father Dexter, a priest.
These heroes are updated the same way as the normal troops. Derrick and his friends have to fight against the troops and heroes of the Orcs that are marching through Derenhalle to Verson and Sylent. Their goal is to stop their attacks on the Humans and protect an ancient artefact.
After Derrick Pfeil has won all the battles the next campaign begins.

After finishing the Human campaign the Orc campaign begins. Now the player has to help the Orcs winning the battles and march to Sylent to defeat the Humans. The orcish hero Ugraum has collected all orcish folks. Now he wants to attack the Humans and get back the land which he thinks belongs to the Orcs.
Ugraum has a shaman named Ash-Hoon who helps him. Ash-Hoon knows of the ancient artefact that is hidden in Verson. The same way Derrick Pfeil had to guard this artefact in the Human campaign, so the Orcs have to get this artefact now. But...

...there are still the Elves. When the Orc campaign ends the campaign of the Alliance begins. What the Elves have to do with this?
That's simple, the artefact is an Elven artefact and the demon Farrakh is woken up by the Elven Leader Glenderin. Now it's up to the young Elven woman Teya Tael to lead the Alliance through this campaign with the help of Derrick Pfeil. And you can be sure that nothing is as it seems.

In Fantasy Wars you are playing with more than one hero. In the first campaign (Humans) you'll begin with Derrick Pfeil, you can hire all human troops here to fight the Orcs. Some other heroes are joining your troops throughout the campaign, so don't forget to explore all available ruins and places to get all available items for your Heroes and troops.

A short description of all available starting characters (the heroes) and also the most important troops are listed in the following chapters, together with some of the special places you should really visit.

Characters

During the campaigns you'll get some Heroes. Those characters are mostly like the normal troops, they can be upgraded with special abilities and they can carry artifacts. The difference is that characters can have more of all this, characters can carry up to three artifacts and be upgraded up to the 10th level. Normal troops can only carry one artefact and reach level five.
You'll get some important heroes and some characters, that are less important. The important ones, mostly the first character that you'll get in the campaign, mustn't die. If they die the game is over and you'll have to restart the level with a saved game.

Human Heroes

The Human Campaign is the very first campaign you have to finish before you are able to select the next campaign. Here you start with Derrick Pfeil and the human troops.

Derrick Pfeil
The first and most important character in the human campaign is Derrick Pfeil and he mustn't die during the whole campaign. Derrick Pfeil is a mercenary, King Victor hired him to defence the southern borders.
Derrick has to defend the Human Lands against the Orcs and protect the cities of Verson and Sylent. He also has the order to take some orcish fortifications by storm and push the Orcs back into their lands. He is a warrior who uses swords and he has some tactical skills.

Master Brennock
Master Brennok is the only mage you'll get in the Human campaign. In some levels you have to protect him against the Orcs and so he mustn't die. In all other levels he can die but he will not be available for the rest of that level then.
Master Brennok is from the town of Sylent and a real mage. He gets a new spell at every level-up. You can also give him one or two attack/defence skills. He joins your troops at an early stage of the Human campaign.

Father Dexter
Father Dexter is a high priest, he joins you in the fourth level of the Human campaign. He can die and is not available then for the rest of that level. Father Dexter gets some strong healing and resurrection skills at his level-ups. He fights with a sword and seemed to me a bit stronger than all other heroes.
He is the one who knows about the artefact in Verson which you have to protect in a later level.

Orc Heroes

After the Human Campaign you have to play as Orc. You are now playing with some Orcish shamans and heroes, your main hero in this campaign is the Orc Ugraum Grableg.

Ugraum Grableg
Ugraum Grableg is the boss of the orcish horde. He's the one you have to lead through the Orc Campaign without dying. Ugraum wants to combine the Goblins and Orcs to a Horde who is able to kill all the Humans. He is a strong warrior and can get also some tactical skills.

Besargar
The next hero you'll get during the Orc campaign is Besargar, the chief of the Berserks, he'll join your troops in the third level. He is a warrior like Ugraum and gets also some tactical skills during the level-ups.

Ash-Hoon
Ash-Hoon is joining your troops at a later level, he's a Goblinhexer with many practical spells. But be careful, at one point in the game he'll betray you and you have to fight against him.

Sho-Doon
Sho-Doon is a Goblinhexer too and you'll get him a bit earlier than Ash-Hoon. At a later point in the game you have to fight against him, so he can help you to catch Ash-Hoon. At last you have to kill Sho-Doon too.

Alliance Heroes

In the last campaign there are only two heroes you'll get, but some of the old ones from the Human Campaign are still available here. The Alliance Campaign is the last and with those two new heroes you should be able to win the game then.

Teya Tael
Teya Tael is also called Teya Dragonspeaker by the elves. She is the Alliance hero that mustn't die during the whole Alliance campaign. She's an elven mage with many healing spells, but she has also some attacking spells.

Dwarvenrock
I don't know, how this dwarf is named in English, but Dwarvenrock is the best translation I think. Dwarvenrock is a dwarf and warrior, many fighting skills he can call his own once you've pushed him up a bit. However, he will help Teya to fight against all evil things on her way through the Alliance campaign. You'll get him in the first level together with some dwarven troops.

Creatures

Note: There is no chance to write down what skills this or that troop has, because with every level-up you can choose between three different skills. So every unit is kind of unique depending on what skill you give her.

Human Troops

Some of the Human units are: Peasants, Militia, Bowmen, Crossbowmen, Halberdiers, Swordsmen, Knights, Paladines, Yeomen Archers, Eagles and a lot more.
You can upgrade them to another troop if you want, this is done between the single levels of the campaign. Peasants can be upgraded to Militia or Bowmen, Rangers can be upgraded to Elite-Rangers and so on. It is your choice what you need them for and what kind of upgrade you'll give them, and it depends a bit on the money you'll get during the campaign.

Orc Troops

Same as for Human troops, you can upgrade them to other troops and give them whatever skill is available. Some Orc troops are: Goblin Looters, Goblin Sneakers, Might Orcs, Zeppelina, Wild Trolls, Bad Mads or Orcriders. You can upgrade for example Might Orcs to Battle Orcs.

Alliance Troops

With the Alliance campaign some things are changing. In the first levels you'll get new troops, such as Elven Swordsmen, Elven Bowmen, Dwarven Axewarrior or a Dragon. After the first levels you have to play with some Human or Orc troops, that you've collected in the previous campaigns. You also get some of your heroes back for a level or two.
At the end of the Alliance campaign you are fighting with all troops that you've got during all three campaigns.

Special Places

There are some special places in this game. Such as Old Tree, a Blood Church, Ruins, Witch Circle or Caves. When you walk on them with one of your units you can get some experience, gold or sometimes an artifact.
There are also some special places depending on the story, those are a special hammer or anvil where Dwarvenrock has to go to fulfill the goal of the mission.
When you play through the campaign make sure, that you'll visit as much of these places as possible, you'll need the gold or artifacts that you can get there.

Miscellaneous

There exists a walkthrough, the most important thing ever, at least if you don't know where to look for an artifact or which way to go to reach the end of the game. A strategy game is different and there are several ways to get to the end of the map (or level), so everybody has his own strategy how to play best and get the best results.
The walkthrough you can find here is my strategy and you can follow it or try your own way through all the maps.

What would a game description and a walkthrough be without some screenshots? As usual I made a lot of pictures during my playthrough, they are stored in the Fantasy Wars Screenshot Gallery.
Both, the walkthrough and also the screenshot gallery are linked in the side navigation.
